Keep the complete certificate and policy period.
Preserve notices, choices and effective dates.
Collect optional-benefit and other policy changes.
Request the rule and documents relied upon.
Resolve transition questions before a benefit election or settlement.
Give prompt claim notice even if the coverage analysis is incomplete.3
